I’m Back!

Allô everyone! 😀

Ohhh my goodness I can’t believe it’s been a month since my last post. Please do forgive my rather long absence; much has changed within the past few weeks!

I have recently relocated to London in the United Kingdom as I am soon to begin my postgraduate scholarly pursuits at The Courtauld, where my specialism(s) will entail the study(s) of visual culture and its global entanglements in early-modern France. With such a move, my work for the Musée culturel du Mont-Carmel has now become fully remote, which has taken some adjusting to.

Though making a transatlantic move may surely strike anxiety and worry into the hearts of many, I rather found it quite exhilarating and utterly exciting! I, of course, had my moments of unabating stress and unease – such as learning about UK phone carriers, locating the carpark at Heathrow, and navigating Greater London metro and transport. When I take a step back now, though, I have come to see that I navigated things very well despite the myriad of changes encountered.

Now that I have settled into my new place in Central London, as well as having begun to adjust to new routines and weekly schedules, I’m very happy to inform you that I returning to The Charette Cabinet – a space that I deeply missed engaging with. I will be drafting new posts and stories to share in the near future, which I hope you all will engage with. And I will without a doubt have much to talk about; seeing that I am a mere 10-minute walk from the British Museum, a 20-minute walk from the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery, as well as a 30-minute walk from the Wallace Collection, I will be making efforts to entwine my encounters of London with the aims and purpose(s) of the blog.

Though it is my aim to publish new content on Tuesday of each week, it is likely that this will not be the case at least for the near future as I continue to adjust to life in a region that holds no resemblance to the verdant landscape that is the Saint John Valley. Nevertheless, let it be known The Charette Cabinet remains alive and well, and will continue to be so whilst I’m in London conducting my postgraduate studies and engaging with the various opportunities that present themselves.

Keep an eye out for new posts to come! 🙂

Cheers!
